This new six bed pediatric intensive care unit is launching in August 2019! We partner with Nemours and will specialize is many service lines including Ortho, Respiratory, Cardiac, and Pulmonology; Infants to 18 year old patients. This is a great opportunity to influence operations and procedures as well as growth of service lines as the leader of a brand new unit!

Current license as a RN
1+ years of experience as a PICU Nurse Manager required
Required to be enrolled in a BSN program with completion within 24 months of job start date
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the 24 hour, seven day a week functions of a clinical nursing unit(s). Administers plans and evaluates the activities of the department(s) to ensure quality patient care. Develops goals, policies and procedures, prepares and submits operating and capital budgets, participates in multidisciplinary QI teams, consults with staff, physicians and other departments as needed. Manages staffing patterns with the assistance of Assistant Nurse Managers and the House Supervisors on a shift-to-shift basis. Follows policies and procedures of West Florida Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to WFH standards of behavior.
