  The Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute  at TriStar Centennial includes a phase I drug development program, surgical services, radiation oncology (including the region’s only CyberKnife® unit), blood and marrow transplant including CAR T-cell therapy, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, rehabilitation, support programs and resources. Breast, BMT Transplant, Neuro, Thoracic, CyberKnife and Complex GI patient navigators are available to assist patients and family members through the cancer journey.  TriStar Centennial is part of the TriStar Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute, the largest community-based, privately funded, diagnostic and treatment center in the country. Sarah Cannon helps patients gain access to cutting-edge research studies and clinical trials right in their own community. Community organizations providing patient support services include PearlPoint, Gilda’s Club, American Cancer Society, and Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

 

Reporting Relationships:

 

Reports to: Chief Medical Officer (CMO)


Supervises: Oncology Services Directors and their individual areas


Interrelationships: TriStar Centennial Campus, TriStar Division Leadership, Middle TN Healthcare, Sarah Cannon Executive Leadership, HCA Corporate Leadership, Tennessee Oncology Physician and Executive Leadership


Position Summary:

 

Under general direction, assumes service line responsibility and authority for the administration, evaluation, and coordination of the functions and activities of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Institute (SCCI), including radiation oncology services and serves as Administrator of the Sarah Cannon Center for Blood Cancer (SCCBC) at TriStar Centennial Medical Center, a department of the SCCI.  The primary focus of the role (70%) is focused on administrator duties related to the SCCBC. 

 

  • The Administrator provides administrative direction and support for the ongoing development of the adult and pediatric Sarah Cannon Center for Blood Cancer, a joint program of Tristar Centennial Medical Center, Tennessee Oncology and Sarah Cannon.  
  • S/he works closely with the Sarah Cannon blood cancer leadership and SCCBC Physicians, and hospital leaders to coordinate the strategies and practices of the Hematologic Malignancy and Blood and Marrow Transplant programs, including adult and pediatrics.
  • Collaborates with the Sarah Cannon Enterprise and Sarah Cannon Blood Cancer Network to ensure operating objectives and strategies are in accord with the overall hospital, division, and enterprise needs.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree required; MSN, MBA or MHA preferred.
  • 3-5 years of hospital administrative experience required.
  • Prior experience working with a Bone Marrow Transplant program and knowledge of oncology services required.

 

Skills:  Leadership, strategic planning, creativity, change management, analytical thinking, physician relations, project management, financial planning, written and verbal communications, presentation skills.
