SCHEDULE: Full-time

Fort Walton Beach Medical Center is a 257-bed top-performing quality hospital with over 200 of the most highly respected and qualified physicians in the area. It is the only acute care hospital in the TriCounty area that offers open heart surgery, an Advanced Primary Stroke Center accredited by the Joint Commission and an Accredited Chest Pain Center. An affiliate of the UAB Cancer Community Network, Fort Walton offers a Cancer Care Center that is accredited by the Commission on Cancer. Fort Walton Beach Medical Center also provides advanced care for critically ill patients, including cardiovascular and trauma injury care, and emergency services, including a main ERPediatric ER and Destin ER. Fort Walton Beach Medical Center is in partnership with Twin Cities Hospital, located in Niceville. We are also the parent company of the Rehabilitation Institute, both located in Destin.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Advanced Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing all levels of pharmacy clinical services. This includes monitoring patient medication regimens and providing appropriate interventions as well as supporting all aspects of pharmacy operations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy required; PharmD preferred
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing with the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy required
  • At least one of the following required:
    • Minimum of 1 year of hospital clinical pharmacy experience or at least 2 years of general hospital pharmacy experience required; preferably within area of focus
    • Completion of hospital PGY1/ pharmacy general practice residency or fellowship
    • Specialty BCPS certification
    • Other certification (e.g. FCCP, FASHP)

  • PC Skills demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office, Meditech, and purchasing vendor applications and others as required
  • Policies and Procedures articulates knowledge and understanding of organizational policies, procedures and systems
  • Basic Skills able to perform mathematical calculations, balance and reconcile figures, punctuate properly, spell correctly and transcribe accurately
