Oversees the daily operations of the QM Department and provides guidance to the staff as necessary or seeks consult from the Executives and Vice President of Quality. The position requires a thorough knowledge of TQM practices, hospital policies/procedures, and regulatory requirements. The ability to assume responsibility and exercise authority is required. Medical records reviews, interactive associations, and managerial tasks are inherent in this position. Coordination of peer review committees, including agendas, logistics, and minutes are critical. The ability to retrieve, communicate, and present data and information verbally and in writing is essential. Collaborates with members of the healthcare team to abstract medical records for Core Measures and HBIPS and educate team members regarding the same.
