Responsible for secretarial duties which supports the operation of the Emergency Deparment.Duties include facilitating timely and effective communication with all members of nursing staff, technologists,physicians, patients, families and other departments in the organization. The ED Unit Secretary is responsible for telephone management of incoming and outgoing calls in the ED Command Center, monitoring of the lifenet and EMS communication systems and timely notification of the ANM of such alerts and calls. The ED Unit Secretary is responsible for the entry of orders in meditech. In addition the ED Unit Secretary may be called to assist in other clerical duties as assigned by the Department Director, Clinical Care Coordinator or Assistant Nurse Manager.

Required Job Qualifications Include:
- High school or equivalent preferred
- Associates or Technical degree preferred
- 0-2 years experience in managing telephone calls
- Communication, Customer Service , and computer skills
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
