HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood’s Neuroscience Program is a recipient of the American Stroke Association's Gold Plus and Target Honor Roll Elite and is stroke accredited by the DNV GL Healthcare USA, Inc.and designated as the only Comprehensive Stroke Center in northeast Houston.

Our comprehensive team includes Endo Vascular Neurologists and Interventional Neuroradiologists, Neuro-Critical Care Intensivists and Neuro Nurse Practitioners to care for patients receiving diagnostic and interventional radiology and neuroradiology services.  Some of the services we provide are:
  • Watchman implantation
  • Emergent Large Vessel Occlusion (ELVO)
  • Clipping
  • Coiling
  • ST-elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI)
HCA Houston Healthcare - Kingwood is currently looking for a Director (RN) – Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology.

The Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology Director facilitates the integration and teamwork within the Neuro-interventional and Interventional Radiology departments for optimal care of patients. The director works in conjunction with the facility administrative staff and the Neuroscience services medical director to ensure the highest level of care for patients, and ensures that all services provided meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines. The director works with physicians to adopt and incorporate quality initiatives, understand economic considerations, and increase physician/hospital alignment. The director is responsible for ensuring the Neuro-interventional and Interventional Radiology services are performing in conjunction with the mission and values of the facility and of HCA, including participation in goals and processes derived from HCA initiatives

  • Neuro-interventional lab

Responsibilities:
  • Participates in the development of strategic operational plan for Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology services
  • Develops business plan, program and marketing plan with annual strategic plan updates in collaboration with Senior Officer
  • Ensures that comprehensive, cost-efficient services are developed to meet needs of customers.
  • Is accountable for evaluating technologies and information systems for Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology services and assuring state-of-the-art technologies, equipment, procedures, and clinical expertise within the department(s).
  • Recommends and plans capital equipment to assure state-of-the-art, cost sensitive acquisitions.
  • Maximize staff knowledge of clinical care and utilization of information systems.
  • Develops new clinical enhancements.
  • Promotes multi-disciplinary team concept in the delivery of Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology care in an integrated delivery model to decrease fragmentation.
  • Implements/coordinates acquisition strategies (e.g. screening, outreach, managed care contracts).
  • Assists with establishment of clinical outreach/satellite clinics.
  • Provides leadership strategic cost management (e.g. LOS, charges, utilization, inventory management).
  • Facilitates research activities for the Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology services.
  • Facilitates and participates in planning education 
  • Provides leadership strategic cost management (e.g. LOS, charges, utilization, inventory management).
  • Facilitates research activities for the Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology services.
  • Facilitates and participates in planning education activities for Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology services.
  • Effectively leads Interventional Radiology and Neuroradiology committees, develops agendas, and prepares reports as requested.


Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing required
  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Business or Healthcare (MSN, MBA, MHA) required or within 2 years of hire
  • 5-10 years recent clinical experience in Interventional Radiology or Neuroradiology care
  • 3 years recent experience in a nursing leadership position
  • Current RN licensure by Texas Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
