At the direction of the Plant Operations Manager, performs routine and specialized painting and related tasks to maintain the condition and appearance of medical center building’s and facilities.
When work assigned, requisitions supplies and materials so that once started project can be completed in a timely manner.
Coordinates work with all Engineering employees and other Departments concerned under direction of Supervisor.
Confirms that paint colors, finishes, etc. meet finished expectations so that time and material is not wasted.
Uses all paints and solvents in a safe manner.
Assists in determining preparation of surfaces for final treatment by examining surfaces looking for such things as loose plaster, grease, water and chemical stains, holes, etc.; report findings to supervisor.
Works on a unit basis completing one section before moving to another; division line such as corner or molding helps hide that work was not done at same time.
Assists with hanging wallboard and applying tape, sealers, etc. all preparatory to final finishing.
Refurbishes metal file cabinets and desks, etc. performing preparation tasks and final finishing.
Paints exterior fences, tanks, etc. to present a well-cared for exterior of the Medical Center.
Input all information for work orders and PM’s into the TMS system.
- Minimum Education - High School or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience - 1-2 years’ experience in the painting trade.
