is currently looking for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner -NNPResponsibilities:
- Supports the philosophy of Valley Regional Medical Center by facilitating cooperation of hospital staff in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.
- Consistently provides outstanding service to all patients, physicians, fellow employees, and guests.
- Displays initiative to see processes through to completion and offers assistance without being asked.
- Maintains awareness of own limitations and seeks guidance from appropriate personnel as needed.
- Prioritizes activities of self based on demands for service.
- Remains alert to the detection of errors in own work and the work of others with appropriate corrective actions initiated.
- Demonstrates an understanding of patient rights, including those pertaining to confidentiality, informed decision-making, and privacy.
- Is aware of resources available for ethical concerns and makes appropriate referrals.
- Practices cost-efficiency.
- Performs technical skills proficiently in accordance with established standards, as evidenced by annual validation processes.
- Utilizes specialized knowledge and skill to perform job requirements.
- Adheres to Tardiness/Attendance policy.
- Assumes responsibility for the efficient management of patients with physician authorization.
- Assists the service line director with program development, program operation, and outcome measurements.
- In collaboration with physicians in specialty area and the Interdisciplinary care team, develops and updates clinical Protocols/critical pathways to reflect current accepted standards of care.
- Works with case managers and physicians to ensure appropriate and timely progression through the care continuum.
- Identifies, plans, and/or provides continuing educational opportunities for clinical staff.
- Obtains complete medical database on selected patients and documents in the patient record.
- Assesses selected patients for alteration in health status using objective and subjective criteria.
- Participates in the development and refinement of the plan of care in collaboration with the supervising physician and other health care professionals.
- Under the direction of the collaborating physician, orders consultation, diagnostic tests, pharmacotherapeutics, fluid/electrolyte replacement, blood/blood products, and durable medical equipment.
- Evaluates patient’s response to therapy and adjusts or maintains treatment to achieve therapeutic goals.
- Provides information and health education to patients and families.
- Serves as a resource and consultant for colleagues
- Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, hospital personnel, and others to fulfill position responsibilities.
- Actively participates in hospital and departmental group meetings.
- Consistently responds to requests in a positive, professional, and timely manner.
- Consistently demonstrates behavior which reflects that working as a team is more important than self-interest.
- Demonstrates interpersonal competencies such as effective problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict management skills.

- Ensures that problems/concerns regarding departmental activities are communicated with Director.
- Ensures that problems/concerns regarding activities in the hospital are communicated appropriately.
- Protects confidentiality of patients/co-workers, respecting their dignity, privacy, and differences.
- Shows respect for hospital property and the property of others.
- Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners required.
- Current BCLS, NRP and STABLE certification required.
- Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing advanced practice program required
- Currently recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
- Five years minimum NICU experience in a professional nurse capacity.
