Grand Strand Medical Center located in beautiful Myrtle Beach, SC is a 345-bed acute care hospital serving residents of Horry and surrounding counties. Our hospital offers the only cardiac surgery program, neurosurgery program and pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) in Horry and Georgetown counties and is a designated Level I Adult Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center by South Carolina DHEC.

We are searching for an experienced Registered Nurse for a PRN, as needed, position in our state-of-the-art Neuro ICU.
Our NSICU is an 8-bed neurological specialty intensive care unit. We care for patients after neurosurgical interventions, to include neurological diseases and also spinal cord injuries. We are a Certified Advanced Primary Stroke Center, recognized by the Joint Commission to treat the most complex stroke cases. Because of the complexity of our patients, our nurses must have excellent neurological assessment skills, which they develop through a tailored orientation and ongoing specialty training.
The NSICU RN is responsible to the Nursing Director/Charge Nurse for the delivery of quality patient care utilizing the nursing process.
- Apply your nursing knowledge derived from education and experience as foundation for patient care, communication, and documentation on the unit.
- Provide quality patient care, in keeping with the philosophy and objectives of the hospital and department.
- Maintain and support the standards of nursing care and practice in order to meet the health care needs of patients, their families and the community.
- Prescribe, delegate and coordinate all nursing care provided to assigned patients and is responsible for meeting all standards associated with performance, nursing practice and nursing care.

Licensure: Current valid RN license under Compact License Agreement
Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing
BLS – Healthcare provider
ACLS preferred and required within six months of hire date and maintained
Experience: One (1) year experience in acute care preferred
