Job Summary and Qualifications

The Mental Health Technician functions as a member of the treatment team and accepts responsibilities for specifically assigned duties, such as patient observation rounds, suicide risk observation and assisting with behavior modification programs.

What qualifications you will need:

• High School diploma or GED preferred
• Prefer either a bachelor's degree or an associate degree.
• Prefer at least one year of experience in the behavioral health field or healthcare setting OR
• One year of experience involving public contact which may have included providing care of guidance for children, elders or others; volunteer work in providing respite to caregivers; or leading youth groups
• Must exhibit quality communication skills with the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire - Required
• CPI Certification within 30 days of hire - Required
