Job Summary and Qualifications

The Mental Health Therapist will assist in conducting process and educational therapeutic groups as indicated in the programming schedule. Also serves as a resource person to the hospital staff and as a member of the multidisciplinary team within the Psychiatric Treatment Center. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of current clinical diagnosis and able to evaluate clinical symptoms, development and personality disorders, severity of psychosocial stressors and global functioning and address medical conditions they affect patient’s functioning. Participates in development of master treatment plans and updates. Attends patient treatment planning meetings and reviews on an ongoing basis. Participates in discharge planning and aftercare planning. Makes necessary contacts with community resources to ensure continuity of care. Interviews patients and families to obtain social histories and assures completion of psychosocial assessment in timeframes given by policy and guidelines.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Counseling required
  • One of the following Florida licenses is required:
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
    • License Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT)
  • 3+ years of experience in respective discipline preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
