Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Stroke Coordinator (RN) in Quality Management for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

* You will coordinate the clinical management of the stroke patient population across the entire continuum of care.

* You will serve as a leader for the stroke program performance improvement initiative.

* You will act as a clinical resource/ role model for all areas caring for stroke patients.

* You will provide and/or coordinate educational activities for both staff and patients.

* You will oversee implementation of The Joint Commission stroke guidelines

* You will need analytical skills necessary in order to develop and implement program plans, education techniques, and evaluate program effectiveness

* You will perform concurrent review of stroke patients for core measure compliance.

What qualification you will need:

* Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing is required.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required.

* Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)

* Three year’s recent clinical experience in an Acute Care Stroke/Neuroscience Unit

* BLS, ACLS required

* Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Office

* Ability to apply critical thinking skills for process improvement and decision making.
