Job Summary and Qualifications

The Central Sterile Technician will prepare OR surgical case carts decontamination and sterilization of re-processable supplies, equipment and surgical instruments consistent with innovation of patient care. You will operate gas and steam sterilizer, cart washer, sonic washer, decontamination.

• You will prepare and assemble instrument procedural trays for sterilization.
• Operate gas and steam sterilizer, cart washer, sonic washer, decontamination
• Decontaminate supplies according to department policy; washer decontamination, sonic cleaner, cart washer, or hand wash.
• You will deliver specified supplies daily to units, woman’s clinic, nursery and patient care diagnostic areas.
• Prepare and assemble instruments per listing for birth rooms, clinics, and operating rooms.

What qualifications you will need:

· Minimum of 1 year experience in Central Sterile Supply department is preferred to include: Proper identification of instruments and preparation of trays for Operating Room use

· Sterile Processing Certification required (CRCST or CSPDT) within 18 months of employment. 

• Must have knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, surgical instrumentation, and medical terminology.
• Must be able to appropriately and effectively react to requests for emergency supplies.
• BLS current or within 60 days of hire
• Possess the ability to work Monday - Friday, 1p - 9:30pm and rotating weekends
