Job Summary and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY: The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care to infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with urgent and emergency medical conditions within the scope of the Texas Nurse Proactive Act. The nurse conducts nursing assessments, identifies nursing problems, plans and implements individualized and holistic care, and evaluates the effectiveness of the nursing process. The Registered Nurse administers treatments, carries out physician orders and provides support to the patient and their families. The Registered Nurse provides supervision of the LVN, PCT, Student Nurse and volunteer. The full utilization of the services of an RN may require him or her to delegate selected nursing tasks to unlicensed personnel; however, accountability for the delegated tasks remain with the RN.

 EXPERIENCE: Recent acute care experience with at least one year of medical-surgical experience. Emergency Room experience is preferred but not required. 

SPECIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas. Current CPR certification, ACLS, TNCC, and PALS. Basic Arrhythmia Courses must be taken within one year (12 months) of hire.

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or CPR, or CPR for Healthcare Providers, or Heart Saver CPR must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour, or PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
