The Emergency Services (ES) Transport EMT will operate on the North Florida Hospital EMS Transport Services’ Team. The primary duty of the ES Transport EMT will be to assist the Paramedic in rendering safe and effective treatment and transport of North Florida Hospital patients on the North Florida EMS Transport Services’ ambulance. The ES Transport EMT will respond to EMS Call-Center requests, coordinate with other healthcare providers, and facilitate transport appropriately.
As needed, the ES Transport EMT will function within the free standing North Florida Hospital Emergency Departments and the main North Florida Hospital Emergency Department. While working in the Emergency Department, the ES EMT will provide quality care to patients under the direction of a Paramedic or RN, in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of North Florida Hospital . The ES EMT will perform all duties identified in their job description, approved Medical Protocols, and departmental policy.
Skills will be validated by competency assessments under the License of the North Florida Hospital EMS Medical Director. The ES EMT will report to the Chief of EMS Operations. They will serve as a member of the Healthcare team through active communication; documentation; feedback and assistance as needed or requested. The ES Transport EMT will attend meetings, education opportunities, and in-services as required by departmental policy, and contribute to the growth and development of their self and the North Florida Hospital EMS Transport Services’ Team. The ES EMT will maintain good working relationships with patients, visitors, physicians, co-workers, and other hospital staff.

We offer comprehensive cardiovascular care, oncology, orthopedics, and neurosciences. We offer minimally-invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery, weight loss surgery and treatment. Other services that we provide include women’s health and wound therapy. We are fully accredited by the Joint Commission and certified as a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Our hospital has an Accredited Chest Pain Center by ACC (American College of Cardiology) and is designated as a Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery and Bariatric Surgery.
