Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Director of Food and Nutrition Services you will direct and manage the operation and activities of the Food Services Department to achieve quality improvement, fiscal, productivity and patient satisfaction goals and objectives established by upper management.

As part of your responsibilities, you will:

• Direct the daily operations of the FANS Department encompassing but not limited to all patient and non-patient food service, employee cafeteria, Doctor’s dining room, catering, and vending machines as applicable
• Hire, train, supervise and hold accountable staff with food preparation, service, nutrition/dietetic needs, and special projects
• Coordinate purchase of supplies, food, equipment and other supplies to meet the needs of the hospital
• Prepare department records and reports related to department operations including: number/types of regular and therapeutic diets prepared, nutritional and caloric analyses, food and labor costs, sanitation irregularities, menus, food production rates, as required or requested
• Demonstrate knowledge and ensure compliance with all current policies, procedures and regulatory standards (TJC, OSHA, AHCA, HRS, EEOC and others) within all FANS areas

Position Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED Required
• College degree in Dietetics, Food Service Management or related field preferred
• One year of experience in Healthcare required
• Three to five (3-5) years experience as Director in a hospital or extended care facility in Food and Nutrition preferred
• Must be able to work in environments containing human blood and body fluids

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital is a 380-bed acute-care hospital. Offering a full range of services. We are home to the most experienced Heart Institute on the Treasure Coast. Lawnwood Hospital provides interventional and therapeutic care, including open-heart surgery. Other hospital services include labor/delivery, pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, nuclear medicine, adult and pediatric emergency services, and diagnostic services. We also offer inpatient, and outpatient surgical services.

Lawnwood Hospital is a designated Certified Primary Stroke Center. The Physical Rehabilitation Center is CARF accredited. We are a Level II Trauma Center. We are verified by the American College of Surgeons. We offer a freestanding ER in Vero Beach. We provide emergency treatment for adults and children.
