Job Summary and Qualifications

Responsible for providing leadership and guidance for the departments of Food & Nutrition Services and Medical Nutrition Therapy in support of the organization’s mission, vision, values. To assure provision of optimal nutritional care and quality food service to our customers by utilizing cost effective and innovative management techniques in compliance with all regulatory standards. To plan, direct & supervise the department’s functions of human resource management, staff education & performance improvement.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordination/integration of department services with the hospital’s primary function

Develop/implement policies/procedures that guide/support the provision of services

Recommend a sufficient number of qualified/competent staff to provide department services in support of provision of services

Determine the qualifications/competence of personnel

Continuously assess/improve department’s performance

Maintain/implement quality control programs

Provide for the orientation, in-service training and continuing education of staff

Recommend space and other resources needed in the provision of services

Identify and select outside sources for needed services

Attendance and being on time, ready to work your scheduled hours is an essential job function.


What qualifications you will need:
  • Registered and Licensed Dietician in the State of Texas 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics, Nutrition or Food Services 
  • Registered Food Service Manager (RFSM), or ServSafe Food Protection Manager
  • Commission Dietetic Registration, or ADA Registered Dietitian
  • Professional experience to include department management of Human Resources, budgets, capital expenditures, business planning, P&P Development, staff education, marketing and performance improvement
  • Must have knowledge of operation of a comprehensive food service department in a healthcare setting, medical nutrition therapy, 
  • Must have excellent leadership, communication and organizational skills, effective interpersonal skills at all levels of the organization
  • Must have basic computer application and financial management skills


This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

We have more than 2,000 employees and over 1,400 physicians on staff. Our main campus in Plano has a cancer treatment center and cardiovascular programs.
