The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high quality, patient-centered care and coordination of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift. In collaboration with other members of the management team, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures, serves as a resource person for staff, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

High School Graduate/Equivalent
Associate’s Degree-Major: Nursing

1. Current Texas Registered Nursing license or identified compact state license. (*If compact license, Texas license must be obtained within 90 days of hire or establishment of Texas residency, whichever occurs first)

6. National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification Required Upon Hire (for certifications only: upon hire is defined as within 2 business days of start date)

7. Annual Education
As a Registered Nurse caring for acute stroke and trauma patients, you will be required to:
Complete assigned stroke and trauma education upon hire and maintain annual stroke and trauma education per your unit direction
PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
1. Preferred experience as RN of 5 years in Emergency Department
2. Specialty certification/training as appropriate
3. Read and write basic English with the basic skills necessary to understand and transfer physician’s orders
4. Bilingual a plus
5. Ability to move an excess of 100 pounds with assistance from other staff
6. Effective communication skills, both oral and written
7. Computer skills
8. Ability to work as a team member with a team to ensure quality patient care.
