Job Summary and Qualifications

Provides courteous and prompt telephone service while demonstrating a high level of customer service skills. Position requires a professional attitude and the ability to handle 100-200 calls per hour, monitor all emergency equipment (fire alarms, generators, emergency black phone, etc.) and announce all hospital emergencies: codes, fire alarms, etc.

What qualifications you will need:

• Minimum of 1 year experience on a PBX console or answering service
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred
• Ability to think logically, respond quickly and calmly, work independently and handle multiple tasks
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English required
• Bilingual

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is a 488-bed facility. We are accredited by the Joint Commission and offer a wide range of medical specialties. These specialties include emergency care, heart, and vascular care. We are designated by the Joint Commission as a Primary Stroke Center. Other specialties include maternity and neonatal care. We are a Level II NICU hospital. HCA Florida Mercy Hospital is CARF accredited for inpatient rehabilitation. Our facility offers a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program.
