Job Summary and Qualifications

This Laboratory Coordinator will act as a role model for other laboratory personnel to follow. Additionally, they will ensure the departments maintain accreditations with JCAHO, CAP, state, and the FDA.

  • Day-to-day duties include reviewing the work of others done in department, resolving technical problems, and ensuring remedial actions are taken.
  • You will evaluate, monitor, and ensure the competency of all testing personnel assigned to your section or shift.
  • This position requires a broad knowledge of laboratory departments and the ability to assess a situation from many perspectives, consider various alternatives, and choose the appropriate action.
  • You will correlate results with diagnosis and each other and question any incompatible results. This position will assume the responsibilities and make decisions as needed in the absence of the laboratory technical director.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Associate's degree in Medical Lab Technology. 
  • Successful completion of registry with 12 months of hired. Continuing education to maintain registry/licensure required.
  • ASCP Certification preferred. 
  • Must have at least two years of supervisory experience with in-depth knowledge of laboratory procedures, principles and instruments. 

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
