Job Summary and Qualifications

The Stress Lab RN assists in transport, preparation and performance of various types of Stress Testing. Provides all nursing assessment, care and documentation for Stress Lab Procedures including patient admission, medication administration with EMAR documentation, and patient/physician support if patient procedural response becomes unstable. Assumes responsibility and accountability for several patients while following policies and procedures of Gulf Coast Medical Center. Prioritizes and organizes patient flow to ensure best utilization of time. Is given general guidance and is expected to function with initiative and sound judgment to provide quality services. Demonstrates effective safety practices. Establishes and maintains a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments and Medical Staff. Demonstrate competence when performing other related or licensed functions.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential core function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, experience, and ability necessary to perform this job.

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Nursing Diploma from an accredited institution required.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current FL RN license required or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held in another state, active FL RN compact license required within 90 days of hire. Advanced Nurse Practitioner license acceptable
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required at hire
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification (45 day grace period.  Instructor certifications interchangeable with required certifications

• 1 year acute care or critical care experience preferred

• Reads and writes English with the basic skills necessary to transfer physician’s orders

• Ability to move in excess of 100 pounds on stretcher or wheelchair to and from the Stress Lab

• Good knowledge of cardiac drugs and arrhythmias

• Ability to listen, empathize, and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
