The Surgical Services Supply Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the inventory level in the OR at a functional level both physically and financially. This position is responsible for insuring that the needed supplies have been ordered and that inventory is kept at the objective given by HCA.
What you will do in this Role
Monitors surgical inventories in all specialty areas, establishes par levels for supplies, and otherwise ensures availability of materials for Operating Room expediting emergency purchases. Checks surgical cases to avert equipment / material conflicts.
Knowledge and application of surgical procedures and instruments.
Knowledge of Meditech in order to be able to update and maintain surgeon’s preference cards.
Knowledge of SMART and eProcurement order entry.
Manages and maintains the Tissue Graft Tracker.
Monitors and controls supply related expenses within the approved budget.
Must attend OR University within one year of hire date.
Coordinates communications regarding equipment and supplies between surgical services, materials management and Central Supply. Reviews, investigates and resolves equipment problems and / or concerns and follows through on new equipment purchases.
