Position Overview 

Galen College of Nursing is looking for a campus implementation, assessment, and support specialist to support the opening of new campuses including identifying and securing academic resource needs, oversight of leadership training and faculty training in collaboration with the FRS team at the campus level, and appropriate initiation and growth of campus culture and academic processes and functions. Assessment of needs for stabilization and ongoing faculty evaluation and quality improvement interventions at current campuses in collaboration with regional deans, FRS, TLA, and other academic departments as needed.
 
Responsibilities: 
  1. Prepare the campus for opening and accepting students
  2. Support campus leadership with the process of new campus openings
  3. Orient Deans/Program Directors using the leadership checklist as a guide
  4. Facilitate the continuous development of new Deans/Program Directors in their role
  5. Collaborate with new campus orientation and residency needs with Faculty Resource Specialist Team
  6. Facilitate initial PNS courses as needed
  7. Assess and implement needed interventions to ensure Galen’s ELA for quality and stabilization on all campuses.
  8. Provide support for all accreditation processes and visits
  9. Contributes to the continuous development of new faculty
  10. Complete faculty observations to assess faculty assimilation into their role
  11. Implement daily management of campus academic nursing team as assigned by VP/ED
  12. Help to create and maintain a positive environment in support of faculty.
  13. Model and foster commitment to Galen values and culture.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements

Education:  Minimum qualification of a Master’s degree with a major in nursing is required; doctoral degree preferred. Knowledge that includes an understanding of the educational objectives and expectations of faculty and academic leadership, an understanding of diverse instructional technologies, understanding of nursing curriculum and accreditation, understanding of implementation of academic policies.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years current experience as an academic nurse educator required. Minimum of two (2) years experience with Galen College of Nursing preferred.

Unencumbered Licensure: Applicable state as a Registered Nurse (nursing only).

Special Qualifications: Experience facilitating courses in multiple teaching modalities, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, knowledge of and proficiency with a variety of technology tools used for course facilitation and ability to demonstrate skills with these tools.  Must be highly organized with the ability to work in a team environment, multitask, and prioritize projects. 

Physical/Mental Demands and Work Environment: Position requires mental activity, reading, planning, preparing, evaluating, and decision making.  Physical demands in classroom and office are minimal and considered sedentary work with occasional lifting and/or carrying such articles as records, files, and books (10 pounds maximum).  Operation of standard office equipment such as phone, computer, classroom projector, Scantron, and printer/scanner, occurs on a frequent basis. 

 Degree of Supervision: Minimal.   

Travel: Travel will be required.
