The Telemetry Technician (TT) participates in high-quality, patient-centered care by providing continuous observation and monitoring of cardiac rhythms and other monitored vital signs, from a centralized monitoring location, assuring a safe patient care environment. The TT notifies the primary RN or charge RN when patient parameters and waveforms are outside of established parameters in accordance with division policy. The TT functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery at HealthONE/HCA Healthcare.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, heart rate, and arrhythmias and communicate abnormalities to nurses and physicians.
2. Creates clear, accurate documentation on patient status and activity during the shift.
3. Demonstrates knowledge and respect of patient rights to privacy and protections of patient confidentiality.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training, Required Knowledge, Skill, Abilities and Other Job-Related Characteristics:
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration:
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
B. Education:
High school diploma/GED required. Successful completion of a Basic ECG/Arrythmia course preferred.
C. Experience:
Minimum of at least six months of experience in acute clinical setting.
D. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrates good organizational skills. Provides safe and appropriate patient care within the Values & Standards. Demonstrated ability to interpret cardiac
