We are seeking a Patient Care Technician. As our PCT, you will perform basic patient care services related to nursing care under the supervision of the nurse (RN). You will also assist the patient care team with maintaining a clean, well-organized, adequately stocked and safe patient care environment. We are a family like team caring for each other as we care for our patients!

 Delegated tasks may include: 

  • You will obtain vital signs, height and weight, intake and output, calorie counts, apply ice/heat as directed, and perform simple non-sterile dressing changes.
  • You will perform safe patient handling that may include turning and positioning, use of specialty beds, patient transfer, assistance walking, oxygen use and suction use.
  • You will perform bedside glucose testing and collection of samples for lab as needed.
  • You will assist the RN collecting data from patients on admission, for patient processing and discharge preparations as instructed.
  • You will assist patients with performing activities of daily living to include bathing, shaving, oral care, toileting, grooming, changing linens, providing water, assisting with meal delivery when needed.

Requirements:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support through the American Heart Association, CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training required for Behavioral Health.
  • 1+ year(s) of previous PCT experience in a healthcare setting, preferred
  • Lifting 100 Lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 Lbs.

HCA Florida Blake Hospital is a 383 bed hospital. We are located in Bradenton, FL. We have a thirteen acre campus by the Gulf Coast beaches. We are the only state-designated Level II trauma center in Manatee, Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. We have received verification by the American College of Surgeons. Our services include 24-hour emergency care, open-heart surgery, burn care, cancer care, joint replacement and inpatient rehabilitation.
