The Phlebotomist uses appropriate safety policies, collects specimens on patients of all ages while maintaining a strong emphasis on patient satisfaction. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
· You will promote consistent and positive patient interactions that advance the agenda of unparalleled patient service.
· You will perform specimen collection while following the established policies and procedures of the Clinical Laboratory.
· You will instruct patients on proper specimen collection procedures.
· You will work efficiently and communicate effectively under stressful conditions and time constraints.
· You must maintain strict confidentiality of work-related information.
· You will practice good infection control by hand washing, wearing personal protective equipment, for the protection of patient and self while maintaining a neat, well-kept work area
What Qualifications you will need:
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Phlebotomy certificate preferred
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: One year hospital experience (including venipuncture experience) preferred.
Familiarity with a hospital laboratory is desired. Medical terminology preferred.
This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
