Job Summary and Qualifications

As Director of Obesity Management at our facility you will be leading a team committed to excellent patient care. Our motto is "Care Like Family". 

In this role you will:

  • Oversee the function and performance of the bariatric and diabetes program at St. Mark’s Hospital.
  • Fill the role of the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS) Coordinator who assists in center development, managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements.
  • Maintain relevant policies and procedures, patient education, outcomes data collection, and quality improvement efforts.
  • Educate relevant staff in the various aspects of the metabolic and bariatric surgery patients with a focus on patient safety.
  • Serve as a liaison between the facility and all surgeons performing metabolic and bariatric surgery at the center and any general surgeons providing call coverage.
  • Work in conjunction with the senior hospital leadership and marketing director to develop strategic business and marketing plans for the bariatric surgical program.
  • Be responsible for the oversight of the Diabetes Center and Weight Treatment Center office functions.
  • Oversee patient education, communication with credentialed physicians, and coordination with Patient Access Services to ensure appropriate and timely patient registration and billing. 

Qualifications:

  • Licensure - must possess one of the following licenses:
    • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Utah or Registered Nurse compact license from participating compact states.
    • Current Commission on Dietetic Registration and current state certified dietitian.
    • Current LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) license
  •  Education:
    • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) or equivalent work experience as required by licensure or registration required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 3+ years in a clinical setting with project management or direct management responsibility.
  •  Special Qualifications:
    • Familiar with bariatric surgery industry. 
    • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with patients and physicians.
    • Excellent leadership skills.

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
