Job Summary and Qualifications

OPERATING ROOM REGISTERED NURSE - Full-time Weekdays with Call Rotation

What you will do in this role:

Applying the standards set forth for nursing practice by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), the Operating Room RN works with surgeons and anesthesia providers to deliver the safest, highest quality surgical care to our diverse patient population.

  • Assist with and assesses Operating Room readiness: table positioning, supplies and supply availability, and equipment set-up
  • Monitor treatment in the operative environment including practice of aseptic technique and maintenance of sterile fields and correction of breaks in technique for any of the team members
  • Manage patient safety by implementing operative policy and procedures including patient identification, site verification, positioning and counting of sponges, instruments and sharps
  • Circulate surgical cases including robotics, spine, ortho, general and gyn


What qualifications you will need:

  • ADN required and BSN preferred

  • Texas RN license or compact license is accepted
  • Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Must have at least one (1) year Circulator RN experience in an acute care hospital


This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

We have emergency services at our main campus and at Medical City ER Flower Mound. Our patient tower has two floors dedicated to women’s services. We have a specialty obstetrics referral center for high risk OB services. We have a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
