Medical City Dallas Apheresis & Infusion department has two specialties. One side is Apheresis, where we perform Therapeutic Apheresis and Collections for the Stem Cell Department. We also do photopheresis procedures for patients with Graft Versus Host Disease. The second side is the Infusion side, where we administer chemotherapy, IV hydration and antibiotics, as well as blood transfusion. All staff are expected to be trained and competent on both sides.

The Apheresis & Infusion RN performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on nursing process / outcomes for the Stem Cell Transplant and hematologic disorders patients.


Education

BSN required within 24 months of hire.

License/Certification

Current TX RN license
BLS is required

ACLS required within 1 year

Experience

1-2 years of Oncology, Infusion or Apheresis experience required
