Job Summary and Qualifications

The Core Laboratory Manager oversees all aspects of technical and general laboratory operations within areas of technical expertise in the fields of Chemistry and Hematology. Responsible for technical section scope and compliance with accreditation standards, quality initiatives, performance, budget, staffing, and customer service. Supports section specific and laboratory general operations and activities consistent with the Laboratory Director’s and Senior Leadership’s objectives. Will assist with the transition to a new lab which currently under construction and due to be completed this fall.

This position will work daytime hours generally Monday-Friday 8am-5pm as needed.

What qualifications you will need:

Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology; OR Bachelor’s in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science and 4 years training and experience in a high complexity testing laboratory.

Required Certification: ASCP certification as MT or CLS

Preferred Certification: ASCP specialty certification in area of technical oversight, i.e. Blood Bank (SBB), Chemistry (SC), etc.

Required Experience:

• Four years experience in a high complexity testing laboratory.
• Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, Internet and Intranet software, email.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical operations, projects, and lead and develop staff.
• Strong operations, communications, financial and customer service skills required
