Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Data Analytics Intern with the Sales & Use Tax team you will assist with data analysis related to the unique taxability of healthcare items. This internship will also involve learning sales and use tax compliance and concepts.

What you will do in this role:

• You will extract, transform, and load data from one system to another or stage for output
• You will develop queries using data visualization software to illustrate distribution of sales & use tax
• You will use database tools, perform queries of large amounts of data for staging and analysis
• You will use ETL tools, move data from one system to another system, and perform data analysis for reporting
• You will work with external and internal resources to configure software to efficiently provide reports used for tax analysis
• You will assign item taxability coding for AP system and sales & use tax system
• You will assist with special projects related to various indirect tax issues
• You will respond to information requests from internal and external customers
• You will assist with data collection for sales and use tax audits and research projects

What qualifications you will need:

• Present enrollment in an accredited Decision Sciences or Data Analytics program
• A GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Current juniors, seniors, or master’s students preferred
• Experience with data analysis tools preferred (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, MS Access, Excel Power Query, UI Path, etc.)
• Must reside in the Nashville, TN area
