Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Unit Secretary, you contribute to the public's perception of the medical center through effective customer service skills. The Unit Clerk follows unit and hospital procedures in medical record management and provides support for clinical staff processes. Your commitment to compassionate service and professionalism is critical to achieving the best experience for our patients.  

    What You Will Do In This Role 

  • You will be responsible for transcribing doctors' orders, ordering unit supplies, answering phones and patient call lights, faxing orders to Pharmacy, preparing patients' charts, entering patient charges into computer, and filing.
  • You will facilitate document and specimen handling.
  • You will anticipate the needs of physicians, nurses and other hospital departments. 
  •  You will communicate the needs of patient, families and visitors in a professional and timely manner; recognizes and escalates the signs and symptoms of heart attack, stroke and pulmonary distress. 

    What Qualifications You Will Need 

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
