Job Summary and Qualifications

The role of the Chest Pain Coordinator in the Cardiac Cath Lab is to administer appropriate patient care including stemi call along with maintaining clinical competencies, education, and training of clinical staff. The Chest Pain Coordinator works in collaboration with the Manager of Cath Lab and Director Cardiopulmonary Services to ensure compliance with established nationally recognized quality patient outcomes (cardiac- to include NCDR, PCI, ICD and Chest Pain Center). The Chest Pain Coordinator provides therapeutic services necessary for the care of the patient, and in support of the mission of Doctors Hospital. This position provides care for adult patients between 18 to 64 years; and geriatric patients 65 years and older

What you will do in this postion:

  • Responsible to lead AMI and D2B/ Chest Pain Center team meetings in collaboration with Manager, Director, and Medical Director
  • Responsible for maintaining clinical competencies for all staff, oversee in-services and education
  • Assist and organize education hospital-wide for Chest Pain Center and other Cardiology quality metrics, communicate necessary information to physicians for documentation for the Cardiac Registry and Chest Pain Center
  • Responsible to help facilitate meetings among clinical team to assure all elements are met for Chest Pain reaccreditation.
  • Assists in planning and implementation of interventions to ensure best practices are implemented for database compliance.
  • Assists in the improvement of the accreditation process by verifying the accuracy of abstracted data, minimizing data calculation -and aggregation errors and confirming that the data is as complete as possible.

Qualifications for this position:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with either an ADN or BSN degree
  • Must hold a current license from the Georgia Board of Nursing
  • BLS and ACLS required upon hire (AHA or Red Cross)
  • 1-2 years previous experience preferred. 
  • Prior experience in a similar size facility with similar services provided is preferred. 
  • Previous emergency, pre-hospital or critical care preferred. Clinical teaching/education experience preferred.
