Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary:

This is a hands-on technically focused development position with the Enterprise Clinical Web Development Team that will be responsible for leading the development and production support of clinical web applications.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships and manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.

This position will participate in all phases of the systems life cycle. Major responsibilities include:

• Provide leadership and expertise for the clinical web application development team and consulting services to the enterprise web development and architecture standards team
• Work within a matrix organization to drive discovery and analysis and the creation of business requirements to ensure the business requirements are technically feasible
• Work with clinical web architects to define the application architecture and design specifications
• Lead the web application development projects in an agile development environment that will meet business requirements in a manner consistent with company and industry standards
• Provide mentorship to other development team members of project teams
• Lead development code review sessions and drive the development and execution of unit and system test plans
• Provide production support of clinical web applications
• Must be highly motivated and a self-starter committed to delivering high solutions within agreed upon timelines
• 5+ years of experience in web development role
• Experience with Angular, REST-based APIs, NodeJS, C#, SQL, and asp.net core
• Experience with SQL Server and Teradata
• Experience with UI/UX design
• Experience with Azure Cloud Computing Services
• Experience setting up and managing a continuous integration environment which works in conjunction with GitHub repositories
• Experience with native mobile application development
• Knowledge in computer science combined with demonstrable problem-solving aptitude
• Work closely with product management to take an idea from concept to delivery using excellent software design, coding, & other technical processes

General Responsibilities:

The candidate will be involved in:

• Creating, testing and providing production support for clinical web applications and ensuring the team adheres to a high level of excellence
• Creating web development standards and guidelines for clinical web team to follow
• Drive requirements and technical discovery sessions on new and/or collaborative projects
• Leading and managing development projects from inception to elaboration, development, testing, and implementation
• Responsible for mentoring and overseeing the work of other team developers
• Work with vendors or existing development teams when appropriate
• Collaborate within a matrix organization of product managers, business analysts and web developers to identify problems and creatively solve complex problems

Education, Experience and Certifications:

• College Graduate – Preferred
• 5+ years of relevant experience

Other Required Qualifications:

• Experienced in leading and mentoring high-performing, highly technical teams
• Proven experience in leading the complete development lifecycle for web applications
• Ability to succinctly communicate verbally and written
• Familiarity with Agile techniques in development environment (certifications are preferred, but a proven history is highly desired)
• Formal experience as a team development lead
• Experience in Healthcare is a plus
• Calm under pressure

Physical Demands/Working Conditions

• Sitting at desk for 4 to 5 hours at a time viewing monitor and typing
• Ability to work nights and weekends when assigned on-call responsibilities
