Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room

With 320 beds and a team of more than 500 physicians representing over 35 specialties, we offer a range of inpatient and outpatient services. 
 
What you will do in this role:
  • The Registered Nurse in this area assumes the responsibility of team leader utilizing the nursing process in planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to the patient during the perioperative period.
  • Applies knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span to identify patient and family requirements relative to age specific needs.

Education:
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
What qualifications you will need:
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification required 
  • Knowledge of perioperative nursing according to AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice, ASPAN PeriAnesthesia Nursing Standards and hospital and departmental policies/procedures.
  • Ability to problem solve, apply technical skills, communicate clearly (written and verbally) and function collaboratively to provide direct perioperative care.
