Job Summary and Qualifications

The Security Manager provides the level of leadership to develop and implement security measures which will provide a safer environment for patient, visitors, and staff.

What you will do in this role: 

  • Recruit and retain qualified staff in order to assure competent staff is available to meet needs of the organization. 
  • Manage, direct, analyze and structure all aspects of daily operations for Security Services. 
  • Maintain fiscal accountability for department. This includes responsibility for the management of human, material, and financial resources. 
  • Identify and reconcile budgetary issues and find alternative ways to reduce cost to the system.
  • Develop strategies to meet expectations of customer’s security.
  •  Improve reputation of supervised department via strategies that address problems and solutions that reflect current and future.
  • Direct and manage all aspects of personnel issues: performance corrective counseling, evaluations, staff assignments, appearance, review of daily work, payroll, and conduct of team members. 
  • Make walking rounds daily to assure that goals set are being achieved.
  • Liaison with local law enforcement, court, and governmental officials. Assist local police agencies in serving warrants on property, within the jurisdiction of the MUMC.
  • Identify appropriate internal controls for department; provide mechanisms to monitor and enforce compliance. 
  • Monitor and control Control Access System. Take firearms test, and conduct management studies.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention
  • Drivers License
  • 5 years security experience required
  • Leadership experience preferred
