The OB Tech is a certified, non-licensed, OR Technician with additional duties in the specialty unit. The OB Tech is responsible, under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, for selected tasks in the administration of patient care within the Labor and Delivery operating room suites and labor room suites. This position assists with surgical procedures in scrub duties, and in the orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Assists RN before, during, and after deliveries with patient and room care, set up, and cleaning; assists RN with transporting patients and belongings as directed, as well as clerical duties or other duties as assigned in order to facilitate the continuum of care for each patient. Facilitates the provision of individualized patient care. Reports to the Registered Nurse on each case and the Clinical Manager and the Director of Women and Children’s’ Services. This is a non-exempt position.

OB Tech PRN/Nights rotating weekends
Current OR Technician Certification Required
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BCLS Required
OR Technician course completion certificate or eligible experience permissible by board to sit for certification exam
One-year experience in acute-care setting preferred
