Orthopedic Technician – 3 West Bay Area 
  

Corpus Christi Medical Center is a 631- bed Health Care System including Bay Area, Doctors Regional, The Heart Hospital, Northwest Regional, Bayview Behavioral Hospital, Northshore Emergency Center, Northwest Behavioral Health Center and Radiation Oncology at Corpus Christi Cancer Center.

What you will do in this role:

  • The Orthopedic Technician assists medical and nursing staff of the Orthopedic/Surgical Unit and within the Operating Room or Emergency Department by providing interventions and assistance that supports patient care delivery.  
  • Clinical interventions / assistance performed under the direction of an Orthopedic Surgeon or under the supervision of a registered nurse may be provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult, or geriatric patients with urgent or post-operative need.

What qualifications you will need:

  • 1-year experiance in orthopedics in an acute care setting.
  • Knowledge of the anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge in the different materials and equipment involved in applying and removing casts, splints and braces.
  • American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
