The Emergency Department Registered Nurse is responsible for planning and providing individual goal directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for, and strives to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community.  The ED nurse possesses knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the particular skills necessary to provide optimum patient care to the population for which he or she is employed.  The RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination.  The RN is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices. The practice of the Registered Nurse will support the mission, vision and values of Medical City Frisco and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.

Applying the standards set forth for nursing practice by the American Nurses Association (ANA), the Emergency Room RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for unit patients in our Level 1 trauma ER.
  • Plan, implement, revise and delegate nursing care
  • Perform necessary technical skills as delineated through education, expertise, and unit requirements
  • Incorporate teaching into all aspects of nursing practice
Experience and Qualifications Required
  • Texas State RN license or compact license accepted
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
  • PALS required
  • TNCC required
  • 1-2 years of Emergency Department experience required
  • Trauma experience preferred

 

About:
 
Medical City Frisco operates as an acute care hospital with services including orthopedics, neurosurgery, gynecology, pediatric surgery, bariatrics, general surgery, ENT, robotics, and ER. Additional services, including OB and cardiovascular treatment, will be added in the future.   
 
Medical City Frisco currently has 54 beds, 12 state-of-the-art operating suites including two DaVinci robots, a 24/7 emergency room, a full-imaging department with a 64-slice CT, MRI and fluoroscopy, a fully accredited lab, and a blood bank.
