Job Summary and Qualifications

As the Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform work on building systems throughout the hospital. As a member of the Facilities Management team, you will have important contact with patients, visitors and clinical staff every day. You will utilize your mechanical aptitude and knowledge of facility and plant operations to provide a safe environment for patients and staff.

  • You will perform routine maintenance and light repairs in areas including plumbing, medical gas, doors and hardware, electrical, nurse call and HVAC systems
  • You will operate building automation systems
  • You will ensure the operation of fixed plant equipment by performing daily building and equipment checks and recording status of equipment
  • You will respond to building system casualties and fire alarms and take immediate action to restore services
  • You will install and/or change out appliances and wall hangings
  • You are responsible for scheduled preventative maintenance on building systems
  • You will assist in controlling and maintaining the materials inventory

Requirements

Experience

  • 2 years of experience maintenance or construction field
  • Previous experience in general maintenance in a hospital or similar institution – preferred

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent – preferred
  • Technical, Vocational or other equivalent education – preferred
