Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs all technical, administrative, and supervisory duties in the absence of the Director of Imaging Services. Exercises professional judgment in performance of duties and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. 

  • You will supervise staff of Imaging Department: diagnostic x-ray, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, CT, mammography, MRI Transport, and clerical staff. 
  • You will assign staff and workload requirements, respecting changing priorities in daily operations. 
  • You will interact and communicate with physicians, support staff, and other Hospital Departments to facilitate Department operations. 
  • You will prepare employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing. (Room rotation, call schedules, holidays and weekend schedules)
  • You will assume director’s role in director’s absence. 
  • You will initiate progressive disciplinary action when necessary. 
  • You will notify department director immediately of concerns. 
  • You will work with Meditech system to increase productivity of Imaging Department. 
  • You will follow and adhere to facility and Department guidelines (policies / procedures) 
  • You will demonstrate an on-going knowledge of, and participation in the Department based Quality and Performance Improvement Program 

What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician, or Registered Radiographer (ARRT), or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB)
  • Completion of formal Allied Health Professional Training in an AMA approved school
  • Current licensure in Texas as either a Certified Medical Radiological Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer;

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers with American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

  • Current ARRT, ARDMS or NMTCB certification

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center is a 150+ bed acute-care facility located north of Austin, Texas. This comprehensive medical center features the only hybrid operating room in the county, a 24-hour emergency department with a Level II trauma center, and leading-edge cardiac care through the Heart Hospital of Austin at St. David’s Round Rock. Patients may also receive care related to rehabilitation services, women’s services, cancer care, neurology, joint replacement and orthotics, and more when visiting this facility.
