Job Summary and Qualifications

Ultrasound Technologist (PRN/Per Diem) --- Call coverage needed; Flexible availability for day/eve shifts on weekdays/weekends

We are currently seeking an Ultrasound Technologist on a PRN/per diem/as-needed basis. As the Ultrasound Technologist, you will be accountable and responsible to perform procedures. You will also demonstrate knowledge of the occurrence reporting system and use the system to report potential patient safety issues. If you share our passion and vision, we invite you to apply now!

Your tasks and responsibilities as an Ultrasound Technologist (or Sonographer) include but are not limited to:

• You will prepare and position patients and equipment in a safe, competent manner in accordance with established operating procedures.
• You will obtain and document a complete patient history as it relates to the procedure ordered, and obtain informed consent in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.
• You will obtain high quality radiographic and fluoroscopic images.
• You will maintain statistical results for quality improvement and other statistical reports.
• You will maintain effective communication with patient; provides explanation of procedures within scope of practice.
• You will maintain proactive and effective communication with radiologists regarding any unusual clinical findings, history, test results and/or their implication.

Qualifications:

• A two-year Associate Degree in Sonographer
• Diagnostic Medical Sonographer license
• RVT - Registered Vascular Tech, or AB RDMS Abdomen Specialty, or OB/GYN RDMS OB/GYN Specialty
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• 1-3 years previous experience as Ultrasound Tech/Sonographer
• Organizational, Verbal, Interpersonal, Customer Relations, Mathematical, Analytical, Grammar/Spelling, Read/Comprehend written instructions, Follow verbal instructions, Computer, Clerical
