Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR Surgical Supply Technician provides the entire facility decontamination and sterilization services. He/she prepares and maintains all instruments utilized by the Operating Room, The Emergency Department, and Radiology Department and all nursing care units throughout the facility. This is accomplished while maintaining the highest possible standards in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the facility, and AORN. Inherent in this position is producing work of the caliber that meets the standards of compliance of accreditation and regulatory bodies regarding supply processing and sterilization.

Tasks and Responsibilities, you will:

Receives all calls for the OR department. 

Documents pertinent information for scheduling.

Attends to inquiries from hospital staff, patients, and outside calls regarding schedule.

What qualifications you will need:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

 Minimum 2 years experience in an operating room/surgical services setting/or equivalent experience in a surgical laboratory.

Must have experience with picking OR cases, medical equipment, OR supplies, etc.

Ability to function under stressful circumstances involving physicians, hospital staff, and patients.

Computer experience strongly preferred. 

This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).

We are an Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) Primary Stroke Center.  HCA Florida Palms West Hospital has emergency services, a dedicated New Life Center and a Level II NICU. We have a full-service Children’s Hospital. Services include outpatient rehabilitation, an aquatics center, orthopedic spine center, robotics, and interventional radiology. HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is located on a 94-acre campus in Palm Beach County. The surrounding areas include Wellington, Royal Palm Beach and Loxahatchee.
