This position functions inactive leadership role supporting the VP-Support Services in managing HCA Healthcare hospitals’ Food & Nutrition Services (FANS) and Environmental Services (EVS) functions with annualized operations totaling $1.3 billion. It is responsible for the financial management, performance measurement, and data & analytics functions in managing the FANS/EVS shared service organization. This individual is responsible for building strategic relationships and ongoing alliances within HealthTrust and HCA hospital operations C-suite leaders to ensure FANS/EVS objectives meet organizational needs and expectations.

What you will do in this role: 

  • Strategically directs financial reporting activities of corporate and CSC-based FANS/EVS shared service financial personnel
  • Guarantees accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all financial reports and records related to the FANS and EVS shared service organization
  • Provides financial insight and input to the FANS and EVS shared service organization strategic initiatives
  • Collaborates with Performance Improvement (PI) labor subject matter experts to ensure hospital-based FANS and EVS operations’ staffing is appropriately managed
  • Directs preparation of short and long range budgets, strategic plans, and monthly financial/operational reporting for all business units listed above
  • Directs staff in all financial reporting and accounting responsibilities according to company policy
  • Prepares detailed monthly budget variance reports to management in the review of operational performance and cost allocations
  • Continue to enhance business intelligence by utilizing new enterprise tools for creating reporting and analytics that meet customer needs
  • Monitor and maintain key operational performance measures
  • Work with appropriate leadership teams to understand, develop, and communicating operational and expense data requests/reports
  • Interpret and present data for decision-making needs
  • Recommend to leadership areas of improvement and assist in driving results
  • Provides cost analytics for shared service operations and third party engagement-specific profitability reviews
  • Completes and/or reviews financial justifications for operational business cases
  • Coordinates all ad-hoc financial, operational, and data mining reporting requests
  • Understanding of methodologies for performing financial and opportunity analysis of proposals

Qualifications

What experience and education is needed for this role:

  • Financial and operational analysis experience required
  • Accounting experience for supply chain operations, complex contracts, and revenue recognition
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required
  • Team leadership required
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required
  • Experience with data mining and business intelligence software. Business Objects and MicroStrategy preferred.
  • Prior management experience required
  • Organizational skills required 
  • Project management
  • Understanding of the IT environment
  • Accounting degree required
  • 8+ years’ experience in financial reporting, financial operations, and/or supply chain financial management
