Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse Medical Surgical Supervisor assists with department activity to assure a coordinated effort in fulfilling department responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision, and values of Horizon.

• You will assist with department activity to assure a coordinated effort in fulfilling department responsibilities with the long-range plan, mission, vision, and values of Horizon
• You will assist with the coordination of the department’s participation in Performance Improvement activities to assure continuous Quality Improvement.
• You will maintain cultural and diversity awareness when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers, and all other customers.
• You will provide leadership and assist with administrative functions for new RNs with a particular focus on newly licensed RNs or those who have not previously been in an acute care setting.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current licensure with the TN Board of Nursing. 
• Minimum of 2 years of Med /Surg preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification is required within 90 days of hire or promotion.  
• Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required within one year of hire or promotion.
