The Transplant Program Assistant under the direction of the Transplant Coordinator/Director, performs clerical functions related to patient care for the Transplant service line.  Assists the transplant team as a partner in patient care. Acts willingly in a variety of responsibilities, for example:
  • Patient registration
  • Coordinating patient testing and scheduling
  • Retrieving and Reviewing Clinical Correspondence for appropriate action
  • Transplant Database entry
  • Monitoring patients for compliance with monthly blood specimens
  • Contributes to a safe environment of care for the patients served by the Transplant department
  • Communication between departments
  • Maintains the medical record
 
 
 

Qualifications

  • This position requires a high school degree or equivalent
  • Computer experience required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic tests in Transplant is preferred
  • Experience in a clinic setting or physician’s practice preferred
