SHIFT: No Weekends
SCHEDULE: Full-time


Work Schedule: Full-Time Days 
 
Upto $5,000 sign -on bonus and up to $3,000 relocation bonus for eligible candidates

  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic PACU environment
  • Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis onthe needs of individual PACU patients
  • the needs of individual PACU patients
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
  • Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
  • Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
  • Participate in surgical services specific initiatives and process improvement
  • Promote a supportive PACU environment
  • Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs
  • Provides immediate post-surgical care of patients ranging from infant to geriatrics (excluding critically ill infants and children) who have had general anesthesia, epidural/spinal anesthesia and IV sedation
  • Monitors all patients for airway and pain management
  • Provides post anesthesia care to patients receiving high-risk intravenous therapies and blood components

Qualifications

  • We do require call, but you will have most weekends and holidays off
  • Minimum one year critical care RN experience is required —PACU pediatric and adult
  • Current RN license in State of Texas or compact license
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Must have a minimum of an ADN
  • Current American Heart Association BLS provider - or within on week of hire
  • ACLS - AHA - within 30 days of hire
  • PALS - AHS - within 90 days of hire
