Med/Surg nurses are the master coordinators of the unit, juggling care for their patients while keeping the entire health care team on the same page. They have high-level critical thinking skills, vast clinical knowledge, and are able to stay calm under pressure.

About this unit:

74-Bed Med Surg Department – Great experience for RNs that want to care for a variety of patients
Various service lines including: acute cardiac care, internal medicine, surgery & urology, and neurological intermediate care
Amazing team work throughout all levels – Physicians, Leadership, RNs, PCTs

Shift: Nights, 7pm-7am, rotating weekends

Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse is a professional nurse who assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery and management of patient care. S/he utilizes the nursing process, the healthcare environment, and current technology to provide a climate which optimizes patient care and staff development.

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Current Louisiana or Compact RN license required
Current BLS
Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required
